Bardstown Bourbon Company High Wheat is one of three six-year, estate-distilled bourbons compared in Issue No. 003 — Bardstown Turns the Shelf Into a Tasting Lab. At 39% wheat, corn sits only two points above bourbon’s legal minimum — and the issue is careful to note that its richness can’t be credited to wheat alone, since it’s also bottled at 106 proof after entering the barrel at a notably low 108.
